HA Area 12

Carillion is helping to keep traffic flowing freely and safely on roads around Yorkshire and Humberside.

We’re responsible for the network management, maintenance and improvement of motorways and trunk roads in the region under a contract with the Highways Agency. The Area 12 MAC contract covers 671km of motorway, 590km of trunk roads and 1,253 structures. Management and maintenance of the routes includes everything from routine and emergency works to highways and structures to electrical installations, communications systems and landscaping.

The schemes are managed by 40 project managers, who are based in five offices across Yorkshire. We also operate a 24-hour Control Centre, which liaises with the emergency services and the new Highways Agency Traffic Officers to ensure that incidents on the regional road network are dealt with quickly and efficiently, minimising disruption to road users.
